Offline-First Architecture
MoodTracker is built with a core philosophy of local privacy. Unlike traditional tracking apps, we do not require any account registration, email submission, or social media login to function.
Local Storage (Realm Database)
Your mood logs, reminder schedules, mood labels, and personal preferences are stored on your device using a local database. We do not run a personal account system or a central database for user profiles.
Data We Collect
In the absence of user accounts, we do not collect your name, email, or login credentials. Most mood data remains on-device, and some technical data may be processed by platform or rewarded-ad providers:
Rewarded Ads (Google AdMob)
The app does not use persistent banner ads. It may use rewarded ads served by Google AdMob when you choose temporary access to individual Pro features.
Data Processed by AdMob
May include advertising ID, IP address, device/app metadata, approximate location, and rewarded-ad engagement data.
User Controls
You can limit ad personalization through your iOS or Android privacy settings and by using any consent choices shown in-app.
Each rewarded ad unlocks the selected Pro feature for 24 hours.
Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
MoodTracker provides premium features through the platform's native commerce systems.
Secure Payments
All transactions are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). The developer never sees or stores your credit card or billing details.
Purchase Verification
The app uses anonymous, cryptographically signed store receipts to unlock premium features locally on your device.
Available Pro options: MoodTracker Pro Yearly (1 year, $9.99/year) and MoodTracker Pro One Time (lifetime, $49.99).
User-Managed Cloud Backups
To prevent data loss during device upgrades or failures, the app offers an optional backup feature managed entirely by the user:
iCloud Drive: Backups are encrypted and stored in your private iCloud container. We cannot access these files.
Google Drive: Backups are saved to a private "App Data" folder on your Google Drive, inaccessible to us or other apps.

Security and Retention
Native Encryption
Your data inherits the hardware-level encryption provided by your iOS or Android device.
Immediate Deletion
Uninstalling the app immediately and permanently deletes the local Realm database from your device memory.
User Rights
You retain full ownership of your mood logs. You may modify, delete, or export your data at any time within the app settings. We do not require account registration; third-party services such as app stores, Firebase Analytics, and AdMob process limited technical data under their own privacy terms.
